P-Noy’s motives of discussing Corona impeachment to US senators questioned

MANILA, Jan. 19, 2012—Fisherfolks’ group Pambansang Lakas ng Kilusang Mamamalakaya ng Pilipinas (Pamalakaya) questioned the motives of President Benigno C. Aquino III of discussing the impeachment case of Chief Justice Renato C. Corona to United States (US) senators visiting the Philippines.

Fisherfolks ask Congress to repeal Aurola Eco-Zone law

Members of the Pambansang Lakas ng Kilusang Mamamalakaya ng Pilipinas (Pamalakaya) appealed to lawmakers to repeal Republic Act No. 9490, the law that creates the Aurora Special Economic Zone Authority (Aseza) as it will displace thousands of peasants, indigenous peoples, and small fishermen.

Fisherfolks to block Laguna Lake’s ‘privatization’

Fisherfolks in the Laguna Lake had assailed the plans of having the lake “privatized,” saying they will do anything to block the attempt to make the 94,000-hectare lake as water source for Metro Manila residents.

Militant fishers’ group, Pambansang Lakas ng Kilusang Mamamalakaya ng Pilipinas (Pamalakaya) hits Defense Secretary Norberto Gonzales accusations that they were exporting communist guerillas to India and Thailand, using the International League of People’s Struggles (ILPS), to train communist rebels there. The group also plans to sue the defense and the NICA chief.
