Destabilization rumors mere hogwash—LFS

The League of Filipino Students (LFS), a militant student organization, has assailed National Security Adviser Norberto Gonzales for spreading “rumors” of destabilization, saying it is mere hogwash.

“If there is anyone that would benefit from the bomb threats flying around the metro, it would only be Mrs. Arroyo and her Cha-Cha machine,” says Terry Ridon, secretary-general of LFS.

Earlier, Gonzales issued a statement that the broad anti-charter change groups were behind the bomb threats and destabilization plots.

“It is Gonzales, from the very start, who peddles destabilization rumors like these, with great vigor, every time that this regime faces political crisis. Just like what happened in 2005 when the Hello, Garcia scandal fumed,” Ridon said.

The young militant reader said that the destabilization brouhaha is geared toward scaring people to stay away from anti-Constitutional Change (Cha-Cha) rallies all over the country.

He outright accused Pres. Gloria Macapagal-Arroyo and her “cabal” in the House of Representatives who benefit from this “vintage” scare tactics.

“We can only guess in the coming days that Gonzales would then foist his NPA (New People Army) infiltrators’ propaganda, weeks prior to Mrs. Arroyo’s State of the Nation Address,” said Ridon. (
